I am an Industrial Engineer with proficiency in information systems, Tenured Lecturer at Sapir Academic College (Logistics Department). My teaching portfolio is broad but focus mainly in Enterprise Systems implementation (SAP and Oracle Applications) and derivatives of ERP data collection – from Business Analytics to Process Mining. Additionally, I have extensive experience in academic curriculum development and excellent teaching evaluations.
My path to pursuing a doctorate was rather unconventional. Having completed my undergraduate studies in Industrial Engineering and Management (Information Systems track) with honors, I was fast-tracked to pursue an M.Sc. degree in the same department. My final project was recognized as best student work by the Faculty of Engineering Sciences. I gained financial support as provided by scholarships and by working as Research & Teaching Assistant (TA) and as an Instructor. Despite my success I choose to continue to industry, and the next career phase was at Meissner-Baran, a Clean-Room Fab Build-Up Construction Management Company. The job allowed new experiences, starting as Scheduler at Intel Fab 18 Build-Up Project and promoted to diverse positions in the global firm – Schedule Manager, Procurement Manager, Document Controller and Chief Information Officer. All those positions were under tight schedules, vis-a-vis major clients – such as Intel, Tower Semiconductors, and Teva Pharmaceuticals, I served as part of the top management and supported high performance construction projects with complicated design and execution.
Acquired experience in diverse disciplines brought me back to academic teaching and research. In 2002 I returned to academia and my research proposal received the prestigious Kreitman Scholarship for Excellence. I was awarded my Ph.D. in 2011 by the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Ben-Gurion University (BGU). Utilizing my background, I developed an ERP curriculum for BGU and established industry-academy relationships with both Oracle and SAP. Today BGU is part of SAP Alliance and I serve as leading expert regarding Enterprise Systems Curriculum.
In addition to teaching and supervising, my academic work includes a few service appointments in which my skills as an entrepreneur and manager are at play. I serve as Head of the Teaching Committee at Sapir Academic College (Logistics Department). This committee approves syllabi, synchronizes among courses and monitors student achievements as well as Liaison Officer to Final Project Department, where I approve, review and guide all final projects for Logistics department. Adding to those I must mention social projects I led - "Reduction of Digital Gap" – Project funded by Microsoft and "Students Entrepreneurship in the Negev Periphery" – funded by Ministry of Labor. Both were under budget yet with high success indicators and meaningful society contribution.
